The “Build Your Business” contest has become, without any exaggeration, a tradition: the ninth is already in line. The initiative of Kenes Rakishev and Aselle Tasmagambetova attracts the attention of hundreds of participants annually. The popularity of the contest is based on simple rules established by Aselle Tasmagambetova and Kenes Rakishev:

  • remuneration is paid in cash — this is not a loan and not an imposed package of incomprehensible and unnecessary services;
  • the winner is selected in each nomination;
  • it is not only business for the sake of money that matters, but also the social usefulness of the business;
  • very simple rules, a minimum of papers and documents.

The Saby Charitable Foundation is one of the oldest charities in Kazakhstan. It was founded by Kenes Rakishev and Aselle Tasmagambetova, then many others joined the case. Aselle Tasmagambetova is the source of ideas and plans for getting them done. Kenes Rakishev organizes business community, attracts people and funds to the case, as well as supplies his own. It allowed Saby to prosper and be able to implement truly large-scale projects. One of them is Build Your Business contest: the honest, simple and effective booster kit for young entrepreneurs.

The Saby Charitable Foundation has announced the start of the IX annual competition in support of young Kazakhstani entrepreneurs “Build your business”. The competition is held under the leadership of the President of the Saby Foundation Aselle Tasmagambetova with the support of famous Kazakhstani businessmen and patrons Kenes Rakishev and Vyacheslav Kim.

Educational and mentoring support is provided by permanent partners: the British audit and consulting firm Ernst&Young and the multinational corporation Microsoft. The information partner of the contest is Forbes Kazakhstan.

Over the past eight years of the competition, the Saby Foundation and its patrons have provided more than 70 grants to aspiring entrepreneurs in the amount of almost $ 2 million. Today, with the support of the fund, projects are being implemented in various areas of small and medium-sized businesses in various regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Successful winners of the competition were such well-known companies as Cerebra, Qazaq Republic, MedData.ai , Sheberkhana, “Nurlab”, Aquapoint, Daria, Tazalyk, Kidslab, Oiko, etc.

The prize fund of this year’s contest will be $ 200,000.

Over 20 years of work, the Sabi Foundation has become a resource center where many of the author’s social initiatives have been successfully implemented. That’s why this competition is also held on the foundation’s website, since it is a non—profit project in its purest form,” says Aselle Tasmagambetova.

What does Aselle Tasmagambetova say about the competition?

The winners receive grants completely free of charge, we do not take interest from them, we do not take part of the business. Our only desire is to help young aspiring entrepreneurs get on their feet and take the first steps in business.

Our assistance is multifaceted: in addition to financial support, most finalist projects receive orders for their products and services, marketing support, preferential rent and much more from the foundation. For our part, we will make every effort to ensure that the “Build Your Business” contest continues its development and, in cooperation with the largest representatives of the business community, becomes a “social elevator” for the youth of our country.

How to participate in the contest?

To take part in the “Build Your Business” contest, you need to shoot a short video about your project, publish it on social networks and submit an application on the website entrepreneur.saby.kz . Applications are accepted until December 20, 2022 inclusive. The participants of the competition can be citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan aged from 18 to 35 years.
